오순절이 되어 믿는 이들이 한 곳에 모두 모여 있었다. 그때 갑자기 하늘에서 세찬 바람소리 같은 큰 소리가 들렸다. 그들이 앉아 있는 집이 온통 그 소리로 가득 찼다. 그들은 혀같이 생긴 불길을 보았다. 그 불길은 사방으로 퍼져 나가서, 그곳에 있는 각 사람 위에 내렸다. 그러자 그들은 모두 성령으로 가득 차서, 성령께서 주신 능력에 따라서 여러 다른 언어로 말하기 시작하였다.

Zum Beginn des jüdischen Pfingstfestes waren alle, die zu Jesus gehörten, wieder beieinander. Plötzlich kam vom Himmel her ein Brausen wie von einem gewaltigen Sturm und erfüllte das ganze Haus, in dem sie sich versammelt hatten. Zugleich sahen sie etwas wie züngelndes Feuer, das sich auf jedem Einzelnen von ihnen niederließ. So wurden sie alle mit dem Heiligen Geist erfüllt und fingen an, in fremden Sprachen zu reden, jeder so, wie der Geist es ihm eingab.

And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
